Feature films by Pedro Costa and Jem Cohen are indistinguishable from documentaries. The same is the "Prologos" by Mantas Kvedaravičius, the world premiere of which took place in Locarno after Mantas' death. It is a pure dock, which is divorced from reality and woven into it. Fires that are lit right in the apartments, a littered textile factory, seventeen stray dogs and several domestic cats, a crumpled bed, a stale T-shirt, black nails, black skin, a white hospital, a blue sea, a pink sunset. All this accompanies the main character - a migrant from Sudan, moving around Greece, which here is far from a resort and postcard, but looks more like an abandoned colony in Africa. Mantas edited the film himself, and there is a fuzzy thread of this torn narrative in it, when the director makes you think why he put this scene one after this one. And almost like an epilogue - poems read by Mantas' girlfriend, actress Hanna Bilobrova:
Глаза закрою - сгниет белый свет
Тебя на свете не было и нет
This year I voted for the best film of all time for the BFI. Interestingly, in the end, my ten does not intersect with the resulting hundred. It's also bad that they didn't post a list of all the contributors. But of course, happy for Chantal Ackerman. African-American and Asian cinema, as usual, towards the end.

My top ten is made up of films about love, very different, in all its manifestations. These are my favorite directors and their films that have become iconic for me at one time or another in my life. Thanks to these films, I became a film critic and continue to love cinema.
А це дуже важливе відеозвернення, яке стало можливе завдяки всій нашій українській кіноспільноті.
And this is a very important video appeal, which was made possible thanks to our entire Ukrainian film community.
